2007 artworks

Alvin has come a long way from the many years he has been working on oil on canvas and his varied styles and approaches to painting, his colours and impressions have also shown a great breadth of variety and scope. His 2007 artworks continue to show evolution as well as refinement of previous works. Here are some of his 2007 paintings.





Then he had a phase of huge clouds burgeoning from a distance, an eerie sense of something huge happening to the point of being ominous.



He also expounded some more on his nostalgic subjects showcasing more and more the feeling of war at hand or just thereabouts. They are truly moving if not, and yet again, sageful in their unspoken but palpable warnings about delicacy of the world we live in.







It seems that he had finally conquered light in many of his paintings and now he is trying his skills in depicting motion as you can see in many of his paintings this particular year.




Still some more that don't quite come under any general heading but are uniquely Alvin's own.

2006 artworks

Alvin painted a variety of colours and styles in 2006. He goes from abstract like on the verge of seeing to celestial bodies and nostalgic impressions. His palette goes from the amazingly colourful to the almost monochromatic, the vivid and the faint, symmetrical and the unpredictable. Check out some of his works below:








He made some clean, clear works that looked like the grains inside a type of wood in a veriety of sizes and permutations.





There were still remnants of what looked like stars or moon or sun and other planets in small and large proportions.







Then there were works that seemed to play on light and shadows,






Finally the works that seem to bring about nostalgia of the pre-war or closely after post-war eras:
